Links: Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail

Garrett Trails has been working with the National Park Service since 2009 to establish links to existing segments of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (PHNST) and trail network components in Garrett County and the surrounding region.  The PHNST was established as part of the National Scenic Trails System in 1983 and NPS has been adding trail segments to this multi-use braided network ever since.  Over 830 miles of established and planned trails within the Mid-Atlantic Region covering 5 geographic zones and watersheds on both sides of the Eastern Continental Divide are currently designated as part of the PHNST.  The ultimate plan is to have sections of the Eastern Continental Divide Loop added to this network.
